然花抄院(ぜんかしょういん)京都室町本店は、2009年、京都室町通りにオープンしたお店です。

花ある心でもてなし、菓子本来の味を楽しんでもらいたいという思いをお店の名前にこめたそう。

そんな然花抄院の「然(ゼン)」カステラを今回はご紹介します。

丹波黒豆を食べ、京都で育った鶏の卵を使用した生カステラというこちらは、まずその“生”のもっちりとした食感と黄身の味の濃さが印象的でした。そして、シンプルな材料であるので、素材そのものが織りなす美味しさを感じ、ちょっと甘めなのですが次から次へと口へ運んでしまいたくなる美味しさでした。

大と小の2サイズありますが、小の方は小ぶりサイズで、白くて可愛いパッケージなのでホワイトデーのギフトとしてオススメです。

Zenka Shoin Kyoto Muromachi was opened in 2009 in Muromachi Street, Kyoto.
The shop was named to represent their concept, “treat people with the heart like a flower, serve the original taste of confectionery.”
“Zen” the castella of Zenka Shoin, the raw castella which uses eggs of chicken fed up with Tamba black beans and grown in Kyoto, gives you a great impression with its soft and springy texture and the rich taste of the yolk.
Simple materials taste natural, you can’t stop eating this sweet confectionery.
There are two sizes available, large and small. The smaller ones are in white and cute packages, so they are recommended as gifts for White Day.
