およそ800年ほど前から漆器作りが行われていたという、秋田県川連(かわつら)。
江戸時代には蒔絵などの技法も加わり、この地方に川連漆器(かわつらしっき)として現代まで受け継がれています。
川連漆器、蒔絵師として活躍中の若手作家が秋田をモチーフにガラスに漆を施したぐい呑みを、今回はご紹介します。
ぐい呑みは、秋田のお祭りが描かれた「秋田の祭りシリーズ」や今回ご紹介する「月見うさぎ」のある「秋田の四季シリーズ」、その他秋田犬が描かれたものなど沢山の絵柄があり、選ぶのにとても迷いそうです。
「月見うさぎ」は2羽のうさぎが並ぶ可愛らしい絵で、金色ベースの蒔絵はお酒を注ぐとキラキラ輝いて、酒器を口に運ぶたびに目でも楽しませてくれそうです。
とても良い香りの杉箱入りで、秋田モチーフの絵柄はどれも素敵で縁起物のモチーフも多いので、お土産として頂いたらとても嬉しいと思います。

【Akita Kawatsura Lacquer Work: Glass Gui-Nomi】
Kawatsura, Akita Prefecture, has been making lacquerware for about 800 years.
In the Edo era, techniques such as lacquer work were added, and Kawatsura Lacquerware has been passed down to the present.
A young artist who plays an active role as a Kaware lacquerware and lacquer maker, lacquered a glass, known as Gui-Nomi, with a motif of Akita.
There are too many designs to choose such as “Akita Festival Series” depicting Akita Festival, “Akita Four Seasons Series” including “Tsukimi Usagi,” that is introduced below, and others depicting Akita Inu.
“Tsukimi Usagi” is a glass with a cute picture of two rabbits lined up, and the golden-based lacquer shines brightly when you pour liquor.
The product is in a fragrant cedar box, and all of the Akita motifs are wonderful and have many lucky motifs. They will be a pleasant gift.
